5-10 The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties presents a check to The Children's Museum for our roof renovation project. This grant and other funds secured for this project enable the museum to begin Roof Project Part I, to repair our leaking roof with green technology materials, building on the premise that an environmentally sustainable building and operational practices are sustainable institutional practices. Fund raising now begins for Part II of our Roof Project which will include solar panels, wind turbines & a roof observation area, designed to save us approx 50% of our utility bills, and provide unique exciting energy efficient visitor “green programs”.

December 2009 News: View the Children's Museum building decked out for its annual Festival of Trees & Lights! Families, Visitors, Tourists enjoy the holidays, parties, interactive exhibits & various activities in our gaily decorative historic museum building. Children's Museum chosen 1 of 3 Business of the Year nominees in 2009 by the MV Chamber of Commerce.

Honor the Past & Pave the Future. For only $75. you can purchase a personalized engraved brick for the Commemorative Brick Sidewalk in front of the Children's Museum.

August 2010 News:Our Roof Renovation Project takes place. New exhibits go up. The beehive is redone & the Butterfly Wranglers DVD, showing the grace, beauty & wonder of the incredibe butterfly metamorphosis, plays daily in our 3rd floor Living Science Room.

July 2010 News: Our Summer Activities included a Scientist at the museum for an award winning presentation, and program! + our Christmas in July Art Auction, and our Annual Folk Art Festival , featuring various cultures who contribute to our community's diversity on July 17th.

June 2010News:School groups enjoyed our100's of interactive exhibits on each of our four floors, during their field trips!

May 2010 News: The Community Foundation's check presentation will enable us to do Part I of our exciting Roof Project! Spring brings new exhibits, including an award winning "Smart Toliet" presentation & program Sat. May 29th with Inventor, MaryAnn Bulawa.

April 2010 News: The week of April 13-17, '08, the Children's Museum Spring Break week featured neat activities. Saturday, April 3rd, featured our Annual Easter Egg Hunt, fun for kids and families! One of our student exhibits was a finalist in a nation-wide NASA contest!

March 2010 News: Saturday, March 27th, our Annual Science & Technology Fair with Event Sponsor Pratt & Whitney HMI Metal Powders, Prize Sponsor Prevalere Life Sciences, Exhibit Sponsors: Princeton Lab's "Plasma Toys" & NASA's Solar System Ambassador!

February 2010 News: Winter Break week - Mon, Feb 15th thru Sat. Feb. 19th will lots of neat programs, activities & exciting exhibits! Check our online calendar. Check out our new Robot Room!

January 2010 News: Come get in out of the cold in a warm, safe, enjoyable environment! And enjoy Saturday Science – Included in the normal admission fees. Hamilton College Volunteers & Havoc Club spend a day helping spruce up the museum. Rotary eClub NY1 (whose earthly headquarters is at our museum) is donating $1 from every paid museum admission to the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund.
